THE BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO EXPERT COFFEE - TIP #5

DER LEITFADEN FÜR EINSTEIGER ZUM KAFFEE-EXPERTEN - TIPP #5
If you want to savour the taste of Cosmo coffee to the full and are looking for tips on how to keep it as long as possible, you've come to the right place!

Don't forget:

Light, heat, moisture and oxygen are coffee killers!

1. Place of storage

This point is quite simple. Light is bad... heat is bad... moisture is bad… So find a place where these things don't exist! Find a dark, cool and dry place in your kitchen. Perhaps the back of a pantry shelf or cupboard is the ideal place to fulfil these criteria.

Another reminder:

Don't store coffee in the fridge!

2.  The packaging

The coffee stays fresh if it is stored in an airtight, opaque container. Thanks to our special packaging with airtight zip and protective bag, no additional container is required for Cosmo coffee. Simply store it in a cool, dry place to keep it fresh for a long time.

3. Buy small, stay fresh

Only buy what will be consumed within 1-2 weeks to ensure freshness. Large stocks of coffee lose their flavour over time. Keep the coffee in small portions so that it is exposed to as little light, oxygen and moisture as possible and stays fresh.

4.  Choose freshness

Buy freshly roasted coffee to get the best freshness, as the quality decreases the longer it is roasted. Cosmo Coffee only sells beans that have been roasted within the last three months. For the best freshness, buy directly from local roasters who will also grind the beans on request.

DIYers can roast their own beans for optimal freshness; properly stored green beans will stay fresh for up to a year and outlast roasted beans.
